EMS Training

The OAFED recognizes the need for continuous training to meet the demands associated with providing exceptional patient care to our community. EMTs train daily whether it be medication reviews, protocol reviews, hands-on skill scenarios, or monitored sessions using our mid-fidelity training manikin. The goal of our training program is to afford the opportunity for growth and development of our team. We seek to build upon the confidence and competency of each provider.

We have a dedicated EMS training room where staff are encouraged to train as often as they desire to be able to perform the necessary skills required at each skill level. In addition to the mid-fidelity training manikin, the OAFED is able to provide numerous airway training props from simple bag valve mask training to surgical airways. We have numerous intravenous and intraosseous training props for both adult and pediatric patients. Staff can also practice their delivery techniques with our OB baby delivery trainer.
